Paul Baron is one of today's most highly respected lead and commercial trumpet players. Paul's first trumpet book, "TRUMPET VOLUNTARILY© A Holistic Guide To Maximizing Practice Through Efficiency"© is available on this site and on qPress in hard copy and ebook. His book is intended to accompany all the many practice routine and etude books available as a "cross-fit" training guide by learning how, what, and when to practice to achieve the greatest results in the quickest and most efficient way. Due to the amazing response of this book selling on six continents, Paul has written a new book with full comprehensive versions of Paul's three warmups in a book titled, "Trumpet Voluntarily; Three Strategically Designed Warmups To Conquer The Increasing Demands Of Today's Trumpet Player"©. Paul's third and by far largest book was just released in December 2020. "The Broadway Trumpeter" is an anthology of Broadway excerpts spanning decades from the 20's to current hit shows with excerpts from 55 musicals. Along with the excerpts, Paul has written 11 chapters on topics such as preparing for a show, pacing, gig etiquette and more. Preceding each musical are anecdotes, practicing and playing tips with advice on preparing and surviving the demands of show and commercial playing. All totaled this 349 page book is a must have for any aspiring and working trumpet player interested in playing commercial and show music. Paul has been a XO Jupiter Trumpet artist/clinician since 2006 and is based in Seattle, Washington area. Juggling touring schedules with work at home, he can often be seen in the pit orchestras for The 5th Avenue shows in Seattle. Paul is also an artist for Pickett Brass Mouthpieces with his own line of signature mouthpieces.... "Lead", "Studio", classical, jazz, as well as flugel horn and piccolo trumpet models.
For two years Paul toured Disney's hugely successful musical based on their movie, "Newsies" starting in October 2014. Newsies was the winner of the 2012 Tony Awards® for Best Score and Best Choreography. The show sold so well everywhere it played, and in Chicago it broke the all-time weekly sales record with the highest grossing show in Chicago's theatrical history surpassing Wicked and Lion King. "Seize the big screen!" A live filmed production of "NEWSIES" played in February 2017 in select theaters breaking box office records!
Paul toured with Disney's amazing First National hit musical, "Aladdin" where he conducted masterclasses and clinics while on tour in USA and Canada. Paul played 904 shows of Aladdin without a single show off for 25 straight months. In February 2020 Paul started Disney's newest hit, "Frozen". Although it was furloughed for nineteen months for the COVID-19 Virus it returned to the stage September 2021 to very excited audiences.
